Bohler Florida Supports Gulfstream Expansion at PBI

17 January, 2019

Bohler’s Florida office has been selected as the civil consultant for the design-build team charged with the design/build delivery of a new service center for Gulfstream, a global manufacturer and service provider for business aircraft. BRPH and Gray Construction will lead the design and construction project elements.

An expansion of Gulfstream’s operations at Palm Beach International Airport, the 115,000 SF maintenance, repair and overall (MRO) facility will replace a smaller, existing service center on the property. Bohler is providing civil design, permitting and construction administration.

Scheduled to open its doors in early 2020, the facility includes a storage hangar and customer offices for Gulfstream’s sister company Jet Aviation. While Gulfstream will be handling customer MRO needs, Jet Aviation will serve as the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) at the site. The center is expected to create roughly 50 new jobs for the region.

In 2017, the existing Gulfstream Customer Center was utilized by more than 975 aircraft. Gulfstream West Palm Beach offers a broad range of services, including major inspections, structural modifications and repairs and major avionics installations and system upgrades. The site is a certified U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency repair station.

The expansion was made possible by the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Commissioners, the Palm Beach County Department of Airports, the West Palm Beach City Commission and the State of Florida’s Economic Development team at Enterprise Florida.
