Riverfront Revitalization Proposed for Torrington, CT

A vibrant, pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use development may soon be coming to the Torrington riverfront. Previously home to the Torrington Manufacturing Company, the two-acre brownfield site along the Naugatuck River has been used as a city-owned parking lot for almost a decade.

Now, developer Pennrose plans to rejuvenate the site by creating a combination of mixed-income housing and retail space that builds on the city’s current revitalization efforts.

The Inland Wetlands Commission accepted the initial plan application filed by Bohler, with a full presentation to the Commission to follow.
