Milford, MA to Get Self-Serve Fuel Stations

07 December, 2018

The Town of Milford, Massachusetts recently passed legislation allowing self-service gas stations. The new regulation applies to new construction and the conversion of existing stations.

Here’s what you need to know:

Self-Serve Fire Suppression System

A self-serve fire suppression system must be installed in the canopy. You will need a civil engineering consultant to prepare a fire suppression plan for your facility.

Permitting

Approval of the fire suppression plan is required by both the local and State Fire Marshal. An experienced permit expeditor with relationships at the Fire Marshal’s office can help expedite approval in 3-5 weeks.

Local Contractors

Utilizing a local contractor who routinely installs fire suppression systems can contribute greatly to the success of a project.

Having worked closely with the Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s office to develop the current fire suppression system guidelines, Bohler is uniquely positioned to guide you through the process.
