Shadow a Pro Program: Bohler Welcomes High School Students

12 July, 2018

Bohler welcomed a group of Loudoun County high school juniors and seniors to our Sterling, VA office to learn about civil engineering and the land development industry. In keeping with the firm’s drive to educate younger community members about STEM, Bohler’s leaders spent the day engaging with students in hopes of inspiring them to pursue a future career in our field.

Throughout the day, students interacted with engineers during various activities, including introductory conversations about civil engineering and land surveying. Bohler’s survey team led an interactive field session, which challenged students to put their newly learned skills to work. Students also had the opportunity to talk with the firm’s interns and junior engineers about preparing for college and starting a career in engineering.

The event was coordinated through the Shadow a Pro program, which allows high school students in Loudoun County to shadow professionals for a day in a variety of fields and industries.

Bohler was proud to participate in this community outreach initiative and share our expertise with the potential future leaders of our industry.
