For years, the idea of an upgraded football stadium at Dunwoody High School felt just out of reach. While it was often discussed in community meetings, the dream was slowed by layers of approvals and the complexity of working across both DeKalb County and the City of Dunwoody.
The vision for a privately funded, community-driven path forward was first championed by alumni Ryan Seacrest and his father, whose shared passion for Dunwoody left a lasting impact. After Ryan’s father passed away late last year, local developer Tyler Gaines stepped in to carry that vision forward, turning it into a reality for the community.
Families, alumni, neighbors, and supporters came together, raising the remaining funds through grassroots efforts, reflecting the community’s pride and hope for future generations.
Behind the scenes, Bohler’s team found itself deeply connected to that same sense of purpose.
Having served the greater Atlanta area for over a decade, Bohler recognized that this wasn’t just another project — it was a chance to give back to a community that had long been part of its own story. In response, Bohler committed to providing pro bono site civil engineering services, offering full civil design, project management, and ongoing permitting support for the stadium’s new bleachers, concessions building, and ticket gate, along with strategic hardscape design to connect these features.
“At Bohler, we pride ourselves on giving back to the communities where we live and work,” shared Joel DelliCarpini, Divisional Managing Partner at Bohler. “Projects like this remind us that our work goes beyond plans and permits. It’s about creating places that matter.”
Navigating the approval process across multiple jurisdictions can often stall even the most promising projects. Bohler’s familiarity with DeKalb County municipalities, combined with established relationships and an understanding of local permitting pathways, helped cut through the complexity. What once felt like an uphill climb became a coordinated effort, with fewer delays and clearer direction.
More than technical expertise, Bohler brought something less tangible but equally powerful: momentum. Our pro bono contribution helped bridge the gap between vision and execution, ensuring that the community’s hard work didn’t lose steam in the face of bureaucratic hurdles.
Today, what was once a long-awaited idea is becoming something real. A stadium that will host Friday night lights, bring people together, and create new traditions for years to come.
