Honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Bohler

May 2026

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of AAPI communities across the United States.

At Bohler, it’s also an opportunity to reflect on the perspectives, experiences, and identities that shape our teams and strengthen how we work together each day.

A Community of Many Cultures

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) is an intentionally broad term that represents more than 50 ethnic groups and over 100 languages, encompassing individuals and families with roots in East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Together, these communities reflect one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse populations in the United States — bringing with them rich traditions, histories, and perspectives that continue to shape communities across the country.

Bringing the AAPI Community to Life at Bohler

Bohler’s Asian Professional Network (APN) creates space for connection, cultural celebration, and shared experiences among employees across the firm.

One way this comes to life is through APN’s community cookbook — an internal resource created by employees that highlights family recipes, personal stories, and the role food plays in cultural identity. While designed for Bohler’s employees, the cookbook reflects a broader theme of storytelling and heritage-sharing that is central to AAPI Heritage Month.

APN members have also shared where they and their families are from, highlighting the global backgrounds and perspectives represented across Bohler’s teams. Brought to life in the interactive map below, these stories offer a visual snapshot of the places, cultures, and experiences that shape our community. Together, these initiatives celebrate the diversity that strengthens our culture and our work.

Building Connection Through Shared Experiences

To mark AAPI Heritage Month, members of Bohler’s Asian Professional Network gathered in Washington, D.C. for an in‑person summit focused on connection, culture, and community. Over the weekend, participants explored the city together, including attending the Cherry Blossom Festival, a meaningful cultural experience surrounded by vibrant celebration.

While the festival was a highlight, many shared that the most impactful moments came from simply spending time together. From shared meals to conversations that extended well beyond work, the summit created space for employees from different offices and regions to build genuine relationships. Moments of laughter, conversation, and even karaoke reinforced a sense of belonging that carried throughout the weekend and beyond.

I felt connected to the Bohler community knowing others share a similar background.
