CoJourney Inc. Expands into Spring House Innovation Park

Bringing Innovative Cell and Gene Therapy to Montgomery County, PA

CoJourney Inc., a Chinese innovator in cell and gene therapy manufacturing, has secured a $30M Series A financing to expand its US organization and commercial manufacturing capabilities. The company will establish a new facility at Spring House Innovation Park (SHIP) in Montgomery County, PA.

CoJourney specializes in custom development and manufacturing for genetic medicines, utilizing high-efficiency processes for plasmids, viral vectors, and mRNA. The 130,000-square-foot cGMP manufacturing facilities in China will be complemented by the new Spring House labs, which will support plasmid process development and future manufacturing expansion. CoJourney aims to become a strategic partner for clients in advancing genetic medicines from early development to commercial-scale manufacturing.

Notably, Bohler’s Southeastern PA team has provided site civil engineering design and permitting for much of the SHIP campus, where CoJourney joins other prominent cell and gene therapy CDMOs in the greater Philadelphia region. As the industry faces capacity challenges, CoJourney’s investment in Philly marks another milestone in the city’s growing influence in the field.
