Bohler Designs Tallest Industrial Building in NYC

20 June, 2023

Goodman Group plans to construct New York City’s tallest warehouse in Astoria, Queens, standing over 200 feet tall with five stories and 50 truck bays.

This 880,000 SF Goodman Innovation Center Queens marks a shift towards vertical warehousing in the U.S., responding to increased demand for last-mile delivery locations. Multi-level warehouses, pioneered by overseas developers like Goodman, are gaining traction in New York City due to limited space for logistics sites. Bohler’s New York team, having facilitated the development of the first multistory industrial facility on the entire east coast – 640 Columbia, in Brooklyn – is providing site civil engineering design and permitting for this project.

The warehouse will replace an old gas station and Lexus dealership and is one of nine multi-story projects aimed at expanding the city’s industrial inventory by about 10%.
