Public Storage is planning a major upgrade to its North Miami self-storage facility, replacing the existing 46,600-square-foot, one-story building from 1978 with a modern five-story, 243,000-square-foot facility.

The new design includes 900 square feet of office space, 38 surface parking spaces, and enhanced landscaping that aligns with local streetscape improvements, such as increased tree plantings and upgraded foundation plantings along the building’s frontage.

Bohler’s Miami team is leading the site civil engineering design and permitting for this project, ensuring it meets local codes while contributing to the community’s aesthetic goals.

This project is part of Public Storage’s broader expansion strategy in Miami-Dade County, which includes additional developments in Homestead and Kendall. Despite a 9.2% decline in rental costs over the past year, South Florida remains a key growth market with nearly 1 million square feet of new self-storage space delivered in 2023. Learn more.

Beyond Miami, Bohler plays a vital role in Public Storage’s expansion programs across the East Coast, including projects like the Alexandria, VA facility. Bohler’s teams provide program management services, helping identify opportunities to expand facilities, enhance stormwater systems, and improve parking areas. By conducting due diligence and analyzing site conditions, timelines, costs, and entitlements, Bohler supports Public Storage in making faster, more informed decisions to achieve its growth objectives.
