Bohler Supports Retail-Focused Redevelopment in Philadelphia’s Italian Market 

After nearly a decade of pursuing residential development at the prominent corner of Ninth Street and Washington Avenue in Philadelphia’s Italian Market, Midwood Investment & Development has shifted course.  

The updated plan replaces the previously proposed apartment building with a retail-focused concept featuring over 23,500 SF of commercial space, a 2,500 SF covered pavilion, outdoor dining areas, and a rooftop bar with sweeping views of Center City. 

Bohler’s Philadelphia team is supporting the project with site civil engineering, permitting, and land development consulting services. The new design embraces the neighborhood’s vibrant culinary identity, offering opportunities for restaurants and community gathering spaces.
