Boylston Properties is excited to move forward with plans for a 12-story, 227-unit residential building at 745 Concord Avenue in Alewife, Cambridge.

Originally considered for life sciences development, the site is now being reimagined for multifamily housing following new zoning regulations that support denser residential growth. With the area’s evolving landscape, Boylston is committed to contributing to the community by providing much-needed housing in this vibrant part of the city.

Bohler’s Boston team provided due diligence and site civil engineering design services for both the original life science facility and the current multifamily plan. Bohler will also support the project with landscape architecture design, as well as permitting and entitlements.

Boylston plans to file its formal application later this fall. The project would bring much-needed residential units to Cambridge, where multifamily housing development has slowed in recent years due to rising costs and stringent city requirements. City officials are considering a proposal that could facilitate the construction of more housing, aiming to create up to 5,000 new homes by 2040.
