Construction Progresses on The Beck

27 June, 2024

The Procopio Companies has reached a significant construction milestone at The Beck, a 4.8-acre mixed-use project in Haverhill, Massachusetts, along the scenic Merrimack River.

The five-story, 290-unit development is now officially weather-tight and is in the process of finalizing the interior and façade. The milestone comes alongside other notable elements, such as the creation of a new 1.4-acre public waterfront park and roadway improvements as part of a $1.95 million MassWorks grant. The Beck is one of Massachusetts’ largest multifamily, transit-oriented developments under construction, and it is situated in a prime location adjacent to an MBTA commuter rail station.

The development will include 6,000 SF of retail and restaurant space, 290 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and amenities such as a fitness center, sports lounge, outdoor space with a pool, fire pit, patio, and barbecue area. Bohler’s planning, landscape architecture, and design team contributed to the design of the public park, which includes a playground, splash pad, dog park, and green space, as well as a new community dock and riverwalk that improves the community’s access to the waterfront.

The building will also feature bike storage, and as part of the Elm Street improvements, bicyclists will have new bike lanes on Laurel and Elm that will connect to commuter routes and the riverfront Bradford Rail Trail.

Architect CUBE3 designed The Beck, with Bohler’s Boston team serving as site civil engineer and landscape architect, and Dellbrook|JKS as general contractor. The project is anticipated to be completed in spring 2025.
