Taylor Flats Honored with 2025 Lehigh Valley Business Top Projects Award

18 February, 2025

Taylor Flats, a thoughtfully designed mixed-use development by Peron Development, has been selected to receive the prestigious 2025 Top Projects Award from Lehigh Valley Business. This annual awards program celebrates outstanding building and construction projects across the region, recognizing their potential to become future landmarks.

Taylor Flats exemplifies excellence in design and community impact. Located in Bethlehem’s South Side Historic District, the five-story building combines 44 modern apartments with ground-floor retail spaces, blending contemporary functionality with historic charm. The project transformed a vacant surface parking lot into a vibrant community hub, advancing Bethlehem’s Climate Action Plan by minimizing sprawl and leveraging existing urban infrastructure.

Collaborating closely with city officials, Bohler’s Lehigh Valley team addressed traffic concerns by reconfiguring nearby streets to one-way traffic, which improved safety, increased on-street parking, and enhanced pedestrian access. The development also emphasizes sustainability through its walkable design, bike parking accommodations, and energy-efficient systems. By incorporating urban green spaces, the project reduces the heat island effect, improves air quality, and provides residents with a healthier living environment.

This achievement highlights the collaborative efforts of Peron Development, Bohler, USA Architects, the Bethlehem Planning Commission, and the Southside Historic Conservation District in creating a project that balances historic preservation with forward-thinking design. Taylor Flats not only revitalizes the South Side but also drives economic growth and sustainable urban development in the Lehigh Valley.
