Walmart Celebrates Topping Out of Cold Storage Distribution Center in Tennessee

Walmart recently celebrated the topping out of a major expansion to its cold storage distribution center in Shelbyville, Tennessee, marking another milestone in the retailer’s nationwide initiative to modernize its grocery supply chain and meet growing e-commerce demand.

Bohler’s Nashville team provided land surveying, site civil engineering design, and permitting services to support the project. The team worked with the City of Shelbyville, Bedford County, and the State of Tennessee to secure the necessary permits for Walmart to construct the facility.

The 700,000+ SF addition will expand the existing facility to more than 1 million square feet. The project team commemorated the milestone with a traditional topping out ceremony, where team members signed the final structural beam before it was placed atop the building.
