Construction is underway to convert a long-vacant office building into a 150-unit apartment complex named Monarq at Plymouth Meeting Mall in Plymouth Township, PA. The project, led by Keystone Development + Investment, follows years of unsuccessful attempts to modernize or repurpose the building for office or long-term care use.
Bohler is providing land development permitting, conditional use, stormwater management, landscaping, and lighting services for this transformation. Described as a future landmark, the project will feature modern residential design, green space, and transit accessibility.
Monarq is part of a broader revitalization of the Plymouth Meeting Mall area. PREIT, the mall’s primary property owner, also plans to build a 275-unit apartment community on the site of the former IKEA office building, though it has not yet submitted for approval.
With decades of experience supporting developments and redevelopments at Plymouth Meeting Mall — including the redevelopment of the former Macy’s building — Bohler’s strategic permitting and proactive project coordination have enabled PREIT to attract high-performing tenants such as Burlington, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Phenix Salon Suites, and Edge Fitness, alongside dining and entertainment options.
Bohler’s team also has experience with office-to-residential conversion projects, having helped Carr Properties in Arlington and Post Brothers in Washington, DC.
