The historic Union Hotel, a landmark in downtown Flemington since 1814, is set to reopen on July 15 following an extensive adaptive reuse redevelopment that transforms the property into a modern boutique hospitality destination.

Bohler provided full-service site civil engineering design, permitting, and entitlement services to support the redevelopment. Working closely with the project team, Bohler helped navigate the complexities of adapting a historic property for modern use while advancing approvals necessary to bring the vision to life.

The revitalized hotel will feature 100 guest rooms, including 10 suites, along with Jersey Prime Steakhouse, JP’s Speakeasy, and the future FieldHouse Social entertainment venue. Operating under Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand, the project preserves the character and architectural significance of one of New Jersey’s oldest hotels while introducing new amenities designed for today’s travelers and visitors.

Led by developer Jack Cust, the project is part of the ongoing revitalization of downtown Flemington, creating a destination that blends historic preservation with new opportunities for hospitality, dining, entertainment, and economic growth.

Adaptive reuse projects like the Union Hotel demonstrate how thoughtful planning, engineering, and collaboration can breathe new life into historic properties, preserving community character while supporting future investment and development. Read more.
