03 January, 2019

Bohler Engineering is proud to announce our firm’s involvement in Tysons Partnership.Through our participation, Associate Michael Birkland in our Northern Virginia office is contributing to the conversation about development in Tysons, a booming suburb of Washington, D.C.

Tysons Partnership is an initiative comprised of local stakeholders who work together to accelerate the transformation of Tysons into a modern, transit-oriented urban center. They hope to promote more mixed-use and transit-oriented development, enhance pedestrian connections, and improve the overall functionality of the community.

The initiative is contributing to the ongoing growth of the area. Tysons is expected to double in size by 2050, with 42 million SF of new mixed-use development creating new communities around four Metro stations.

Through this partnership, Bohler is engaging with local agencies, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the overarching goals and objectives are achieved, helping Tysons become a prosperous place to live, work, and play. With Bohler’s vast experience and strong local connections, we are well-positioned to assist the development community of Tysons in navigating challenges and making the most of opportunities.

“We are excited to participate in the growth of Tysons,” Birkland said. “Having grown up in the area, it’s amazing how Tysons has transformed in the time I have lived here. What was once a mere shopping mall has become a cultural and economic force in the Washington, D.C. area. We are proud to be helping Tysons transform to America’s Next Great City.”
